MHA Monmouth Appoints Achille Dejean as New Executive Director
Tinton Falls, NJ (January 29, 2024) – The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County is pleased to announce Achille Dejean, LPC, ACS, as the new Executive Director, effective February 12, 2024. Mr. Dejean, a program director at the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris, Inc., and Board Chair of Caring Partners of Morris and Sussex, Inc., brings nearly 10 years of counseling and therapy experience to the organization.
Mr. Dejean’s appointment was approved by the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County’s Operating Board of Directors in January 2024. He will succeed Wendy DePedro, the current President and CEO, who has served in this capacity since 2008 and is scheduled to retire on March 31, 2024.
“Achille demonstrates a deep understanding of our national affiliate’s mission and values,” says Wendy DePedro, retiring President and CEO. “Coupled with his devotion to advancing mental health initiatives, I am confident that the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County will continue to thrive and make a meaningful impact under his leadership.”
The board’s decision aligns with the organization’s commitment to providing high-quality mental health services to the Monmouth County community, as well as prevention education throughout New Jersey.

Wendy DePedro will facilitate Achille’s orientation over the coming months, ensuring a seamless transition for the board, staff, and community partners. The board expresses sincere gratitude to Wendy for her dedicated 15+ years of service, recognizing her as a driving force behind the organization’s success.
