MHA MONMOUTH COMPLETES SECOND ANNUAL LAYERS OF WELLNESS CLOTHING DRIVE
Tinton Falls, NJ (February 27, 2024) – The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its second annual Layers of Wellness Clothing Drive, which wrapped up on Friday, February 16, 2024, in honor of National Caregiver’s Day. This initiative saw the delivery of 73 bags filled with new clothes and wellness resources to seniors and disabled adults in need.
In collaboration with Family & Children’s Service (FCS), the oldest private nonprofit social service agency in Monmouth County, the drive commenced in November 2023 and was initially slated to run through December 2023. However, due to the overwhelming outpouring of support from the community, the drive was extended through January 2024 to accommodate the interest and volume of items received.
“The response to our second Layers of Wellness Clothing Drive underscores the compassion and generosity in our community,” said Marie Argibay-Boccasino, Information & Referral Specialist at MHA Monmouth. “We’re deeply grateful to all the individuals and organizations who contributed, helping us make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who often need support the most.”
Contributions came from various organizations and individuals, including No Stigma Network, Family & Children’s Service, Northeast Remsco Construction / Jag Companies, Inc., Davison, Eastman, Lederman and Paone Law Firm, Rumson Country Day Basketball, Rumson Country Day Student Government, and NJ Titans Hockey Club.
“We look forward to extending this drive into its third year next winter,” added Argibay-Boccasino.
