MHA Monmouth Launches Third Annual ‘Layers of Wellness’
Clothing Drive to Benefit Veterans
Tinton Falls, NJ (October 24, 2024) – The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County is proud to announce the launch of its third annual winter clothing drive, “Layers of Wellness,” which will run from November 1, 2024, through January 10, 2025. This year, MHA Monmouth is collecting donations to support Soldier On, a private nonprofit organization dedicated to ending veteran homelessness.
Community members are encouraged to donate new adult gloves, scarves, hats, coats, socks, pajamas, blankets, and boots. All donations will be distributed to veterans in need through Soldier On’s comprehensive services aimed at providing permanent housing and support for homeless veterans.
Drop-off hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County’s main office located at 106 Apple Street, Suite 110, Tinton Falls, NJ 07724.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Soldier On this year to make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country,” said Marie Argibay-Boccasino, Information & Referral Specialist at MHA Monmouth and facilitator of the drive. “The generosity of our community has allowed us to provide warmth and comfort to individuals in need, and we are confident this year’s drive will have a profound impact on veterans experiencing homelessness.”
In its first two years, the Layers of Wellness drive benefitted Family & Children’s Service (FCS), the oldest nonprofit social service agency in Monmouth County, providing support to seniors and disabled adults.
